Quite Imposing - Known problems
The following problems have been identified in Quite Imposing
and Quite Imposing Plus 2.0 since its release. This page was
updated on 20 August 2008.
Problems in 2.1
Buttons on control panel grey out
This happens when no document is open, or when a secure document is open. However,
in Acrobat 9.0 on the Macintosh only, it also happens when a document is closed
with Command+W.
Fixed in 2.9
Crashes, hangs in Acrobat 9 on Windows
Acrobat may hang on opening a new document, or show a blank document. This can happen after using the following: shuffle assistant; shuffle preview; choose crop mark style.
Fixed in 2.9
Problems in 2.0
Problem with positioning of masking tape
Sometimes the first pieces of masking tape added to a page could be incorrectly positioned. This affected PDF files made with particular software, and could also affect the positioning of page numbers.
Fixed in 2.0g
Problems with Manual Imposition
If a rotated page was used as the target (not source), crop marks may be added in the incorrect position. Also, on the Mac only, sometimes a change to the "Crop marks" option or corner selection was not picked up immediately. On the Mac only, it may be impossible to type a negative number as offset.
Fixed in 2.0g
"Bad structure" error messages
Due to changes in Acrobat 7, some PDF files get a "Bad structure" error message when imposing. The plug-in now works around this problem.
Fixed in 2.0g
Problems with Step & Repeat
- If an automation sequence, without user interface, runs step & repeat, it may give correct results unless a step & repeat (automated or otherwise) has already completed.
- If "best fit" is chosen in Step & Repeat or n-up, it may choose an orientation where the originals do not fit without enlarging the sheet, even though in the other orientation it fitted.
Fixed in 2.0g
Problem with Shuffle Assistant
If the shuffle assistant was used to set up a layout where pages
were not rotated the same across a row, the resulting rule may have
been incorrect.
Fixed in 2.0c
Problem with shuffling, extra pages and page boxes
If a shuffle rule was used that required extra pages (e.g. rule size of 8, with 4 or 15
pages, anything not a multiple of 8), and the last page in a group had bleed defined,
the page boxes for that page could be messed up.
Fixed in 2.0c
Problem in Mac with exporting, then importing XML
If XML was exported from the
Info dialog, it would not have the
correct file type. The XML import would not display it unless
Enable: all documents
was selected. Note that this does not apply to exporting XML in the
Sequences
dialog.
Fixed in 2.0c
Duplicate entry in attachments palette
When an imposition is made, an XML file is stored in the PDF file as an
attachment. In Acrobat 7.0, you may see two attachments called "Quite Imposing
command list" in the new attachments palette,
rather than one.
This seems to be a bug in Acrobat 7. Saving, closing and
reopening the file will show only one entry. Both entries shown refer to the same
command list.
Imposition by example fails in demo
Imposition by example (automation sequences) did not work in the unlicensed demo.
Fixed in 2.0b.
Masking Tape did not support even/odd pages
The masking tape function did not have a choice for even or odd pages only, as in 1.6.
Fixed in 2.0b.
Problem with play back of anonymous page sizes
In certain situations, an anonymous page size (one without a name)
is not properly recorded into XML files or for playback.
Fixed in 2.0a
Lost content on Trim And Shift
On certain pages containing patterns, e.g. radial fill, the pattern can become
lost or misplaced when using Trim And Shift with advaned option 2.
Fixed in 2.0a
Possible problem with Enfocus Pitstop
We are looking into reports of occasional crashes when used at the
same time as Enfocus PitStop. If this happens to you, please let
