If you
are about to jump in and use Quite Imposing, here are a few things to watch out
for. But don't panic!
- If you
are imposing and sending the results on for professional printing, don't
try to guess what the printer will want from you. They might need to do
their own imposition in special ways. Always check.
- As described in Tips for desktop
printing ,
if you are printing to a laser printer or similar, putting printed pages
back in to print double sided can cause serious damage to the printer.
- Most imposition functions break or lose links,
bookmarks etc.
- Form fields and comments might be used to add text or
pictures to a page. Quite Imposing may lose them when imposing; you have
the choice, as described in Imposition Preferences
.
Take care as they might equally have been used to add comments that nobody
intended to print.
- Trim And Shift
and
Adjust
Page sizes allow
you to reach outside the original page size, and the results of this
aren't guaranteed. See the longer discussion in Trim And Shift
.
- Use the extract function in Imposition Info
as
a last resort, because it can create huge files.
